Does Ghost of Tsushima Support Co-Op Multiplayer Play?

Ghost of Tsushima will not have any type of multiplayer mode or co-op feature at launch. The only way to play the game will be in solo mode and there will be no kind of interaction with other real-world players. That’s not to say that there couldn’t be some type of multiplayer option added somewhere down the line, but it seems for now that Sucker Punch wants players to explore the world it’s crafted by themselves.

While the fact that there are no Ghost of Tsushima multiplayer modes may be disappointing to some, there is still plenty of stuff to look forward to with the game. To start, players will begin their journey in Izuhara, which is the biggest area in the game. As they make their way through the main campaign they will explore two other areas called Toyotama and Kamigata. Further, in each area there will be a handful of NPCs, strongholds, and outputs that players can interact with. There are also a handful of collectibles that can be earned by completing the game and liberating strongholds.

Ghost of Tsushima is set in the year 1274 during the rise of the Mongol Empire. The only thing standing in the way of the Mongol’s gaining control of Japan is the island of Tsushima. In the game, players will take the role of Jin Sakai who has been trained in the way of the samurai, but in order to save his island and his people, he will have to learn to adopt the much darker way of the Ghost. The game released on the PlayStation 4 on July 17 and will offer players well over 40 hours of content in the main campaign.
