Ghost of Tsushima – Difficulty Settings, How to Change Difficulty

In Ghost of Tsushima, you’re given the option to choose between three difficulty settings:

  • Easy
  • Medium
  • Hard

Pretty straightforward, right? Easy is great if you’re primarily interested in the game’s story and want less of a challenge when it comes to combat.

Medium offers some nice middle ground between Easy and Hard, with a degree of difficulty in combat that’s challenging, yet approachable.

Finally, Hard is perfect for gamers who feel Medium is a little too easy for their liking. It offers a nice, satisfying challenge when it comes to combat in Ghost of Tsushima, and will put your skills to the ultimate test.

After selecting your desired difficulty setting, you may find yourself wishing to adjust things to help improve your experience in Ghost of Tsushima.

For example, if you select Medium and it’s easier than you expected and you want to give Hard a try. You’ll be happy to hear you can change the difficulty at any time.

Perform the following to change the difficulty settings in Ghost of Tsushima:

  • Press the Options button, then select the Options tab in the menu.
  • In the Options tab, you’ll find the Difficulty settings. Toggle left or right to change the difficulty from your current difficulty to a new difficulty, and you’re all set.

If you’re wondering whether there’s a penalty to switching up the difficulty, like being locked out of a difficulty trophy, the answer is that no, there’s no penalty for switching difficulty settings mid-game.

You don’t have to worry about difficulty trophies because there aren’t any in Ghost of Tsushima

You also won’t need to worry about meeting criteria to unlock a New Game Plus mode as Ghost of Tsushima doesn’t have a New Game Plus mode.

Again, you can choose between three basic difficulty settings in Ghost of Tsushima and change them at any time if you’re not happy with your selection.
