Pokemon GO Poliwag

Get Your Fingers Wagging as Pokemon GO’s July Community Day Features Poliwag

Don't let July's Pokemon GO Community Day spiral out of control.

Niantic’s Pokemon GO Community Days allow trainers a chance to catch a vast amount of the featured Pokemon, hopefully with quite a few shiny variants to boot. Each month, a specific Pokemon is selected with a mix of paid and free research tasks to complete during the designated hours. This month features Poliwag, the tadpole Pokemon that was first introduced in the Kanto region. With three evolutions, players will be busy trying to catch them all. Keep reading to learn everything we currently know about the Pokemon GO July 2023 Community Day which features Poliwag.

Date and Time of the Pokemon GO Community Day

Poliwag will be the star of the July 2023 Pokemon GO Community Day which will be held on July 30, 2023. The event will take place in a three-hour span from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time. Make sure that you play during this time and complete any event-related research before the event ends!

Everything Included in the Poliwag Community Day

The most important element of any Community Day is that the featured Pokemon will be appearing in the wild at a much higher frequency than normal. Hopefully, you will be able to encounter some shiny Poliwag during these encounters!

The following bonuses will be active during event hours:

  • Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours.
  • Incense activated during the event will last for three hours.
  • Snapshots taken during the event will result in Poliwag spawns.

The following bonuses will be active during event hours and stay active until 10:00 PM local time:

  • An additional Special Trade
  • 50% less required Stardust when trading Pokemon
  • Evolving Poliwhirl into Politoed will result in it learning the Community Day exclusive move – Ice Beam

Research Available During Poliwag Community Day

  • Slippery Slope – Paid Research which costs US$1.00 (or the equivalent pricing in your local currency) and is a permanent addition to your Research tab.
  • Pokemon Go Community Day July 2023 – Timed Research which rewards players with a King Rock and is available from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM local time.

Bonus Raids During Poliwag Community Day

From 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM local time, Poliwhirl will be appearing in 4-Star Raids. If trainers successfully complete the raid, more Poliwag will spawn around the Gym for the next 30 minutes. These raids can only be participated in person and note via a Remote Raid pass.

Good luck with your shiny Poliwag hunt this July trainers! With four Pokemon in total, I do hope that RNG is on your side! Hopefully, you will even encounter the new Routes feature on your journey.
