Genshin Impact 4.1 Release Date, Banners, Events and More

Time to dive deeper

Even though Fontaine is still relatively new, it’s about time it gets its first major update! The Genshin Impact 4.1 version “To The Stars Shining in The Depths” will be arriving in just a few weeks, bringing some new areas from the Land of Justice for us to visit and introducing some new playable figures to the ever-expanding roster of characters.

The game’s anniversary is also close at hand, and Hoyoverse has prepared some gifts for players, as well as introducing some important changes to old systems. Time to check the new stuff out!

Genshin Impact 4.1 Release Date and Banners

Arriving on September 26, 2023, the first Fontaine follow-up patch is introducing both Wriothesley and Neuvillette to the game. Wriothesley will be introduced in the newest Archon Quests as the Fortress of Meropide administrator, while Neuvillette already had its former introduction as Chief Justice of Fontaine. Both are joining banners in this update.

The first half brings us Neuvillette and Hu Tao as the rerun banner. Neuvillette is a 5-star Hydro Catalyst character focused on a damaging dealing role.

The second half features Wriothesley and Venti as rate-up characters. Wriothesley also focuses on damage, but is instead a 5-star Cryo Catalyst character who fights using his fists. Heizou’s not alone anymore in his punching club!

Their signature weapons will also be featured in the Weapons’ Banner during their respective periods, as well as some new limited 4-stars. Looks like having new craftable and Battle Pass weapons wasn’t enough.

New Genshin Impact Content and Updates

The main Archon Quest continues in Act III, “To The Stars Shining in The Depths,” and Act IV, “Cataclysm’s Quickening”. The Traveler goes to the Fortress of Meropide to check on Childe, only to find out the Fatui has gone missing somehow.

His actions are worthy enough for the prison’s administrator to set his eyes on the Traveler, and we can only imagine how that goes. Meanwhile, Arlecchino finally shows up in person as she’s sent by the Fatui to talk about Childe’s imprisonment with the big heads in Fontaine.

As for the regular updates, we get to explore a brand new area in the old Fontaine Research Institute Central Laboratory ruins, which houses two new big opponents: the Experimental Field Generator and the Millenial Pearl Seahorse. We will probably need to bring these bad boys down before leveling the newcomers, so get ready!

Both Wriothesley and Neuvillette are receiving their own Character Story Quests in this update, too, so make sure you complete the Archon Quests first before you can unlock these.

All New Events in Genshin Impact 4.1

It’s another Liyue season in Genshin with the Waterborne Poetry main event. With its usual three-type gameplay modes, players can participate to get the free Ballad of the Boundless Blue catalyst. We have the classical battle stages, a minigame, and an exploration activity to give us some easy Primogems for the next banners.

This version also brings minor events such as Dodoco’s Bomb-Tastic Adventures, Radiant Harvest, and The Peaks and Troughts of Life, as well as the timely return of the Overflowing Mastery Event.

And they haven’t forgotten about the game’s anniversary! But unfortunately, things aren’t that different from last year. We’re getting 1600 Primogems on our emails as well as a special log-in event giving out more x10 Intertwined Fates. Other unique rewards include a new companion, but that’s it. It’s not that bad, but we got basically the same for the 2nd anniversary. They could have definitely given us something new for a change.

Other Updates

Some older systems are being revamped in Genshin Impact. The game is already three years old, after all. World Ascension Domains are now getting smaller and easier to finish, so new players won’t have to struggle that much with them, and while this is a very welcoming change, it’s far from the best thing we get in this update.

Starting in 4.1, the Daily Commission system will undergo some significant changes. Players can now get Encounter Points by completing quests (from Archon Quests to World Quests), opening treasure chests, collecting Oculi, and participating in events. These points can be accumulated and used to claim rewards equal to a Daily Commission up to two times per day.

In other words, you can get the same rewards from Commissions by simply doing other activities in the game, and can now choose which Dailies you want to finish today! You can keep clearing your 4 Commissions as usual, but you can now choose to continue exploring instead of repeating that same old mission again, and you won’t miss anything.

TCG is also getting another update with the Scaramouche, Dehya, and Yaoyao cards being added. We’ll soon have the whole cast as playable as cards, too! There’s also another TCG event during this patch if you need some extra coins to get the new cards (and their Dynamic forms).

Genshin Impact 4.1 Livestream Codes

No livestream would be complete without its codes, so here are the newest ones we got in this update. Redeem them quickly, as they expire in merely 24 hours!

Genshin Impact Version 4.1 “To The Stars Shining in The Depths” goes live on September 26, with pre-load being available a few days prior. I’m looking forward to pulling for Wriothesley, so I hope we can get enough Fates for that.
