Fortnite Season 6 Battle Pass Details

An overview of the Season 6 Battle Pass and its spooky new rewards.
This article is over 7 years old and may contain outdated information

Fortnite Season 6 is upon us, which means there is a brand new Battle Pass full of cosmetic items and bonuses to unlock throughout the season. The theme for this season is “Darkness Rises,” so the Battle Pass rewards are a bit more on the spooky side, just in time for Halloween. There are vampire, werewolf, and even pumpkin head skins to unlock in the new Battle Pass, so be sure to stay on top of those weekly challenges as they are revealed throughout the season.

As usual, the Battle Pass contains 100 tiers with even more items to unlock. Battle Pass tiers are unlocked by playing the game and completing challenges to earn Battle Stars and XP. The Season 6 Battle Pass for Fortnite Battle Royale costs 950 V-Bucks, and items unlocked in the Battle Pass will carry over in seasons to come. The progressive outfits, Calamity and Dire, can also be upgraded after Season 6 ends, just like the Ragnarok and Drift skins from the previous season.

Here’s what you get as soon as you purchase the standard Season 6 Battle Pass:

  • DJ Yonder Outfit
  • Calamity Outfit (Progressive)
  • 50% Bonus Season Match XP
  • 10% Bonus Season Friend Match XP
  • Extra Weekly Challenges, plus Calamity Challenges

The Season 6 Battle Pass also includes seven new outfits that are unlocked at various tiers. The new outfits include the DJ Yonder, Calamity, Giddy-Up, Fable, Dusk, Nightshade, and Dire skins, and each belong to a specially themed cosmetic set.

Once you purchase the Season 6 Battle Pass in Fortnite, a series of additional challenges will unlock each week. These weekly challenges are broken up into Free and Premium challenges, and each will reward players with Battle Stars or Season XP upon completion. Free challenges do not require the Battle Pass to complete.

Players looking to get a head start on their Battle Pass this season can pay 2,800 V-Bucks to have the first 25 tiers unlocked immediately. Additional tiers can be unlocked for 150 V-Bucks apiece. While this can get pricey, it’s a decent alternative for players who want to unlock awesome outfits and cosmetic items without having to grind through challenges to level up their Battle Pass.

Pets & Music

The Season 6 Battle Pass also introduces Pets and Music to the reward pool, which are brand new features for Fortnite Battle Royale. Players can drop into battle with a tiny companion at their side, as well as customize the theme music that plays during the game. These items are available at various tiers throughout the Season 6 Battle Pass, with the first Pet and Music rewards unlocking at tiers 12 and 13, respectively. Epic has even brought back the old Fortnite music as the “OG (Remix)” music reward at tier 92 to appease longtime fans who have been requesting the old tunes.
