Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6 | Gain Health in the Storm

Storm chasing.

One of the Week 9 Challenges in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6 tasks players with gaining health while in the Storm. Fortnite has a number of healing items for players to use, but some are definitely better than others when it comes to gaining health quickly so as to not perish in the Storm.

To help make things easier, we’ve put together a quick guide explaining the best way to gain health in the Storm and complete this Week 9 Challenge in Fortnite!

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6 | Gain Health in the Storm

If you’re new to Fortnite, the Storm is what pushes players into smaller and smaller circles on the map. You don’t want to be in the Storm as being in the Storm causes you to take damage. Stay in the Storm too long, and you’ll be eliminated.

Avoiding this and seeking it out are both done the same way, by keeping an eye on the map in Fortnite. If you’re extremely far away from where the next circle is, you’ll want to get moving ahead of time to avoid being caught in the Storm.

If you’re trying to get caught in the Storm for a Week 9 Challenge for example, all you’d do is hang back and wait for the Storm to come.

If you’re already inside the next circle, you’d want to be just outside of it so you have the opportunity to take damage in the Storm, and then regain health in order to complete the Week 9 Challenge.

There are several items you can use to gain health in the Storm, however the best are edible items. For example, fish like Floppers that heal you when you eat them, Meat dropped by animals you hunt, and fruits and veggies like bananas, apples, corn, and cabbage.

When you’re in the Storm and your health starts to drop, having edible items in your inventory can be extremely helpful in keeping you alive. Items that take time to use can potentially be detrimental as you don’t want to lose too much health while in the Storm.

If you run out of healing items, you run the risk of perishing in the Storm. You also leave yourself vulnerable to enemy players who’ll have an easier time eliminating you while your shields and health are low.

So, keeping that in mind, we recommend either fishing up a nice supply of Floppers to bring with you, or picking up food items like corn, apples, bananas, coconuts, cabbage, etc. You’ll only need to do the “gain health in the Storm” task once to cross it off your Week 9 Challenges list.

You’ll know you’re successful as you’ll receive a notification that you’ve gained 24,000 XP by completing the Week 9 Challenge in Fortnite.

Note that the Week 9 Challenge needs to be active in your list of Quests, and sometimes you need to complete other Epic Quests before ones like gaining health in the Storm become active.
