Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6 | Collect Mechanical Parts

As Fortnite players work through the new Weekly Challenges as part of the newly launched Chapter 2 Season 6, they’ll eventually come across a task that asks them to collect Mechanical Parts.

Not only will you need to know how to do this in order to complete this Challenge, you’ll also need to know how to get Mechanical Parts as they’re used to craft items in Fortnite.

The process of finding and collecting Mechanical Parts in Fortnite is relatively simple. The Challenge itself gives you clues as to where you can find these Mechanical Parts by noting that you can collect them from vehicles, trailers, buses, or tractors in Fortnite.

With that in mind, you’ll want to land somewhere that has a few of these vehicles in Fortnite. For this Challenge, we landed at Dirty Docks. Once you’re on the ground, you’ll need to look around for a suitable vehicle. At Dirty Docks, there are several trucks parked around that you can approach.

When approaching the truck, use your pickaxe to deal damage to the truck. As you’re doing this, Mechanical Parts should drop. In the image above, we’ve circled what Mechanical Parts look like in Fortnite. Be careful when you’re dealing damage to vehicles as they can explode. 

Once you’ve collected 5 of these Mechanical Parts, you’ll have completed the Challenge and will earn yourself 24,000 XP as a reward. Not only will collecting Mechanical Parts allow you to earn XP, you can also use Mechanical Parts as crafting items.
