Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 3 Release Date – Round 4

In an official blog post on the Epic Games website, the team behind Fortnite has announced that the new Chapter 2: Season 3 release date is Wednesday, June 17. Further, The Device event, which is also being called the Doomsday event, will be taking place on Monday, June 15. This delay will make this the fourth release date for the new season.

“Recent events are a heavy reminder of ongoing injustices in society, from the denial of basic human rights to the impact of racism both overt and subtle against people of color,” said Epic in its statement.

“We believe in equality and justice, diversity and inclusion, and that these fundamentals are above politics. The team is eager to move Fortnite forward, but we need to balance the Season 3 launch with time for the team to focus on themselves, their families, and their communities.”

Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 2 began earlier this year in late February, with an end date of April 30. About halfway through the season, that date was pushed to June 4 and just last week the season was extended until June 11. Which brings us to today’s announcement from Epic that the season launch would be delayed a third time to June 17.

Let us be clear, we are not faulting Epic’s decision to delay the release of Chapter 2: Season 3, given everything that is going on right now. However, there is something humorous about the longest season in Fortnite history getting even longer! It’s unclear if there will be any new challenges to complete now that the season has been extended, so I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

It’s currently unclear what is in store for Chapter 2: Season 3, but some leaks suggest that the Doomsday event could leave the map flooded with water. This has led many fans to believe that the new season will have some type of special aquatic theme and possibly a new mechanic, which could be the reasons for the previous delays. However, this is all merely speculation and we won’t know until the newly announced release date rolls around.

In the meantime, the Storm the Agency challenges are live and can be completed for some special rewards. If you’re looking for more Fortnite help, be sure to check out some of our other guides:
