Best Agility

  • Peacekeeper
  • Berserker

If you like to quickly move in and out of combat, harassing your opponents like an annoying mosquito, there are two classes that excel at this play style above all others. The Peacekeeper and Berserker have the best mobility in the game and would rather be evading or deflecting your attacks instead of simply blocking or parrying.

Peacekeeper Summary– If the Peacekeeper dodges an attack she can strike immediately and add a bleeding effect to almost any Heavy Attack. In addition, she can cancel her Heavy Attacks with Light Attacks that also inflict the bleeding effect.

Once the opponent is bleeding, Peacekeeper can quickly dash away while her opponent slowly loses health over a short period of time. While her attacks are somewhat short-ranged, she cover ground quickly with her Dashing Thrust. It’s linear, but very effective at getting her in and keeping her there.

Berserker Summary– Similar to the Peacekeeper, the Berserker excels at evading attacks. However, while the Peacekeeper is more about getting in to inflict a bleeding effect, then quickly moving away, once the Berserker is in, they want to stay in for as long as possible.

The Dance of the Paired Blades ability allows the Berserker to attack without interruption so long as they can pull off four attacks interchanging between Light and Heavy Attack. The one downfall of the Berserker is that if they get a Light Attack blocked the opponent gets a guaranteed Guard Break, which could lead to big damage against the Berserker.

Best Aggressor

  • Raider

Raider Summary – For almost any opponent, the Raider is very difficult to deal with once he gets his offense going. His main focus is catching opponents in a Guard Break, which allows him to land the Stampede Charge with relative ease.

The Raider can control the distance of the Stampede Charge, traveling deceptively far. If he runs his opponent into a wall or structure, he automatically stuns them allowing for a number of guaranteed attacks as a follow-up. If that weren’t enough, the Raider can  Heavy Attacks into a quick Stunning Tap, or perform Stunning Tap as a standalone stun move. In addition, Raider Fury is unblockable and can be used in the middle of any chain or combo attack.

Best Defender

  • Warlord

Warlord Summary – If you like to sit back and just play defense, the Warlord should be your go-to hero in For Honor. His moveset is built around securing guaranteed damage with the Block and Stab after blocking in a variety of ways.

While he lacks range, you can use the Warlord’s Light Attacks to counter an opponent’s attack, or use the Warlord’s uninterruptable Heavy Attacks to trade with an opponent’s attack. You’ll still take damage from trading attacks, but you’ll end your opponent’s offensive momentum. Finally, the Warlord’s Full Block Stance allows him to block any attacks (but not Guard Breaks) no matter the direction, then he can quickly transition into the Block and Stab for guaranteed damage.

Best Beginner Character

  • Warden

Warden Summary – The Warden is a great character for beginners, offering a hero who is very well-rounded. The first two attacks of his Vanguard’s Advance combo (Light Attack > Light Attack) are guaranteed after a Guard Break, and anytime you connect a single Light Attack you can land a second one guaranteed (once again the first two hits of the Vanguard’s Advance combo).

He also has a Shoulder Bash that can cause a stun or that can be canceled to keep an opponent guessing. His Zone Attack (Light Attack and Heavy Attack together) always connects to the left, which means you can easily start attacking to the right or up, then immediately use the Zone Attack to throw off your opponent’s guard. Finally, he has Crushing Counterstrike which can instantly parry any high attacks.
