Final Fantasy 7 Remake Weapons On A Rampage Quest Guide

So, you’ve finally arrived in the slums of Sector 5. After a rather dramatic crash landing through a church, it’s time for you to help out everyone in Sector 5 for some extra experience while you wait for Aerith’s mother to cook you a bunch of food, or something. Either way, Weapons on a Ramage is an optional side quest, but we love any excuse to get experience and to make sure that you’re actually getting the most bang for your buck here, so we’ll help you finish it. If you’re a bit further on in the game you can check out this other guide that we put together on how to find a bunch of lost chocobos in the Chocobo Search quest – we’ve relinked it here for your convenience.

Alright, so back to the main event of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake for this guide. You’re being asked to track down some Shinra weapons. The NPC quest giver will be hanging about with the usual green sign over him and he will be asking you to kill “floating eyeballs”. They’re in a place called the Nuts ‘n’ Bolts Hills which you’ll already be familiar with after making your escape from Reno.

You’re going to have to beat two separate packs of enemies called the Monodrive Mark IIs, and you’ll likely beat down the pack of two first before the pack of three. Essentially, you’ll find them in two places. There’s one pack in the far north-east corner in an area at the very end of a curving path. After that, you’re going to want to retrace your steps when you were trying to take Aerith back to the slums safely. Make a beeline for the Twilight Valley section and a fight with the other pack will immediately trigger.

We have some fighting tips on taking down the Monodrive Mark IIs for the Final Fantasy 7 Remake Weapons on a Rampage quest and we’ve put them down below:

  • Use Wind materia against them
  • Use Assess to figure out their weakness if you’re wanting to gather Battle Intel
  • They have rotating immunities depending on their shields
  • If they have green shields up, use physical attacks
  • If they have white shields, use Aero or magic
  • Watch out for when they turn on their sides, they have a corkscrew attack that is fast and also go underground
  • Be quick on the dodge with Dodge Materia to get in chip damage while you’re rolling around

Now that you have our Final Fantasy 7 Remake Weapons on a Rampage quest guide to hand, it should be easier for you to hunt down these errant Shinra weapons. They might initially give you a fair bit of trouble before you can puzzle out when they’re weak or strong to certain things, so just bide your time and watch carefully for the patterns that we’ve identified.
