FFXVI: How to Reduce Motion Blur in Final Fantasy 16

No, you don't need glasses.

Motion Blur has become one of the most disliked graphics settings for games over time, and considering how prominent it appears on Final Fantasy XVI, you may want to reduce it. You won’t be able to turn the setting off completely, but I can help you alleviate some of the blur in the settings in our guide below.

How to Fix Motion Blur in Final Fantasy XVI

To reduce the Motion Blur in FFXVI, go to the settings and turn on the Frame Rate Mode. This mode is equivalent to the Performance mode you would find on most other next-generation console games. When you activate Frame Rate or Performance mode, the game will prioritize the FPS and lower the overall resolution. The target then becomes 60 FPS and settings like motion blur will be reduced. However, it won’t be completely removed.

Motion Blur is usually applied to games at 30 FPS so that the lower frames aren’t as obvious. Moving around the world looks a bit smoother. It may not be the most flattering setting for modern settings, but if you want to use the Graphics mode, then it’s not a bad addition to your screen.

In the general Final Fantasy XVI settings, there is no option to turn off motion blur. Your only options are motion blur with Graphics Mode or reduced motion blur with the Frame Rate option. Either way, there will be some form of motion blur to help alleviate any frame drops.

At the time of launch, FFXVI has some issues hitting 60 FPS on the Performance mode, which is another reason for the graphics setting to be present. If you are having a tough time choosing the graphics mode for you in Final Fantasy XVI, you are in luck. I have a Quality vs Performance mode guide for you so the choice is easy to make as you start the adventure with Clive.
