FFXIV: Where to Find Dark Eggplant

Not the emoji! FF is a family game!

Some of the new Master Recipes introduced in Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.4, The Dark Throne, are quite demanding with their materials. They often ask you to get even stranger items to make new armor pieces, accessories, or even furniture. At least it kinda makes sense when it comes to Culinarian recipes, such as those requiring Dark Eggplant in them.

This is a new ingredient used for some of the high-level foods, indispensable whenever tackling any high-end content in the game. Various crafters will need it for the next months, so here’s where you can get those.

Where to Collect Dark Eggplant in Final Fantasy XIV

Dark Eggplants are bought for 15 Purple Crafters’ Scrips each at any Scrip Exchange NPC. Every main city has one of these, but it’s probably easier to find the one in Radz-at-Han at (X: 11.5 Y: 9.5). She’s on the right entrance when coming directly from the Aetheryte, next to the Summoning Bell.

Select the Crafters’ Scrip (Master Recipes/Material/Misc) Category and the Purple Scrip Exchange (Lv. 90 Materials) Subcategory to find your desired Eggplants. Any other location will have the same items, but Radz-at-Han is the main Lv.90 hub, making it the most common choice for getting those items.

Dark Eggplant is mainly used to cook Baba Ghanoush and Baked Eggplant, with the latter being one of the most commonly used foods for various classes at endgame Trials/Raids. Both use 1 Eggplant each, so you won’t need to spend that many scrips for your raiding food. Unless you wanna sell some raid food, which will probably eat up all of your Scrips savings.

How to Get Purple Crafters’ Scrips

The easiest method to get more Purple Scrips is by completing Custom Deliveries with an Lv. 90 Disciple of the Hand. Check which Clients have a bonus during this week (you can do it quickly by pressing Control + U and selecting Custom Deliveries) and attend to their demands to maximize your weekly profits.

Alternatively, you can also make Collectables and deliver them to the Collectable Appraiser at Radz-at-Han (X: 11.7, Y: 9.8) to get some extra Scrips. This method takes a bigger effort, but you can do it as long as you want to.
