A handful of new content just arrived in Final Fantasy XIV as patch 6.25 dropped on October 18, 2022, including the 4-player Criterion Dungeons. Unlike the new Variant Dungeons, which can be completed with any party size and composition, Criterion Dungeons follow the more traditional party setup of one tank, one healer, and two DPS. Additionally, Criterion Dungeons have an alternate Savage difficulty mode for players seeking an ever greater challenge. Here’s how to unlock the newest Criterion Dungeon in Final Fantasy XIV – Another Sil’dihn Subterrane.

How To Unlock Criterion Dungeon ‘Another Sil’dihn Subterrane’ in Final Fantasy XIV
To unlock the Criterion Dungeon, you must first complete the quest “A Key to the Past”, which unlocks Variant Dungeons. “A Key to the Past” can be accepted by speaking with Osmon in Old Sharlayan, located around the (X: 11.9, Y: 13.3) coordinates. To complete the quest, you’ll need to successfully finish the Variant Dungeon – Sil’dihn Subterrane.
One the quest is complete, return to Osmon in Old Sharlayan and speak to her again. You’ll now be able to register for Criterion Dungeons through the V&C Dungeon Finder menu, found under Duty in the main menu.

Where Variant Dungeons allow you to choose from various pathways throughout your journey, leading to differing outcomes and bosses, Criterion Dungeons are more linear duties with strict rules. Your party must consist of four members: one tank, one healer, and two DPS.
All players will be equipped with the action Variant Raise II, and no other variant actions can be set. Each player is allowed one use of Variant Raise II to revive a fallen teammate, though there may be chances to replenish charges inside the dungeon. Spells that healers would normally use to resurrect party members are not effective within Criterion Dungeons, so the Variant Raise II action will be your only option.
After completing the Criterion Dungeon, you may speak to Osmon in Old Sharlayan again to unlock the Savage version of Another Sil’dihn Subterrane for an even greater challenge.
