Escape from Tarkov 0.15 Pre-Wipe Event Guide

Wipe is coming!

Escape from Tarkov has begun its traditional pre-wipe events that reel players back in to enjoy game-breaking mechanics that can easily destroy the economy. They don’t care about destroying the economy because there is a wipe incoming, which is why these pre-wipe events became extremely popular. Nevertheless, here are all the pre-wipe events coming to Escape from Tarkov in preparation for their 0.15 patch.

The pre-wipe event came unexpectedly on August 12, 2024. Battlestate Games posted details of the event on X, formerly known as Twitter. They changed all hideout upgrade costs to use Beer instead of Roubles, items, and Dollars.

They also increased all the boss spawns, as usual, for every pre-wipe event. These bosses have a 100% chance to drop Beer, giving players an easy way to upgrade their hideout, but it doesn’t make sense to upgrade them anyway since the wipe is coming. The event also increases skill leveling speed, which is completely random, but they could be testing something out with it.

On August 14, 2024, they added another event, which is normal for pre-wipe events. They closed down the Flea Market, which is annoying, especially for players who just want to spend all their remaining money and stash items to go ham on the pre-wipe event. They also buffed the Marked Rooms on every map, making Reserve a hotbed for PvP. They are continuously teasing more event details on the game’s official X profile. There should be two or more events coming before they go through with the wipe.

This upcoming wipe will be the first after their controversial Unheard Edition. It’ll be interesting to see how their numbers or player retention holds up, as the player base has been steadily increasing in each wipe for nearly a decade.
