If you decided to give the new Warden class a try in The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind, then you might be wondering which type of build or role you should go for, or even which race will be best for that type of build. In this article we’ll discuss some of the best roles available for each Race, to help you decide which race fits your build best in Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind.

It should be noted, that while the information in this guide will help you figure out which race is best for your particular build, it will not go in-depth into the various builds available for this class. We’ll have another guide coming with more in-depth information about the Warden class soon.

The Warden Class

The Warden is the first new class introduced into The Elder Scrolls Online since the game’s first launch back in 2014. As such, the developers have done a good job of making sure this class is well rounded and can work in any of the three main playstyles available in the game.

We’ll be breaking down each race included in the game, and discussing which roles these races best fit, to help you get a better idea of how the Warden class can work.

Role Race Name Reasoning
DPS (Stamina) 1. Khajit
2. Redguard
1. Melee Critical and Critical Damage as well as Stealth Damage and Raduis make this race particularly good with Stamina-based DPS builds.
2. Maximum Stamina and Recovery Stamina on melee attacks help breed a very positive build potential for a Stamina-based DPS build.
DPS (Magicka) 1. High Elf
2. Breton
1. Maximum Magicka and Increased Cold Damage help create a powerful combination when build your character around a Magic-based DPS role.
2. Maximum Magicka and Decreased Spell Cost help give the Breton a powerful Magic-based DPS role.
Tank 1. Imperial
2. Nord
1. Maximum Stamina, Health, and Health Recovery give the Imperial race good fortune when taking on Tank roles.
2. Health Recovery, Medium Stamina, and Armor Rating give Nords high potential to become strong Tanks that can help out your party when questing.
Healer 1. Breton
2. High Elf
1. Maximum Magicka and Decreased Spell Cost allow the Breton to cast healing spells more often.
2. Maximum Magicka and Magicka Recovery give High Elves strong healing powers and spell casting abilities.
Versatile 1. Dark Elf
2. Argonian
3. Orc
4. Wood Elves
1. Medium Magicka, Stamina, and Fire Resist allow players to be more versatile in their roles when using the Dark Elf race.
2. Healing Received Increased, Poison and Disease Resist allow the players using the Argonian race to take on a more versatile role, instead of simply having to choose one particular role in the party.
3. Health Recovery and Decreased Sprint Cost make the Orc Wardens the perfect PVP monsterhouse.
4. Stamina Recovery, Stealth Damage and Radius allow Wood Elves to be more versatile on the battlefield when utilizing the Warden class.

As you can see, based on the information above, each race in the game can be specialized in some shape or fashion. Though, if you prefer not to be locked into one role for too long, the more versatile roles can be found with the four races mentioned at the bottom of our table. Finding a race that fits the role you want to fill is important, and while you can ignore this information—you’ll find yourself a much stronger player if you follow it and utilize it to your advantage.
