inZOI, the competitor to The Sims, has finally arrived on PC, sort of. The highly anticipated simulation game has received a lot of positive feedback. However, it is still in early access, so you are bound to run into some issues, both in gameplay and on the technical side.
The PC version is surprisingly competent and players can expect decent performance on mid-end systems. It also has support for cloud saves on PC, but if you’re looking for your local data, here is the save file location for inZOI.
inZOI Save File Location
Client | Save File Location |
---|---|
Steam | C:\Users\[Windows Username]\Documents\inZOI\SaveGames |
To backup your progress, just copy the SaveGames folder inside the inZOI folder. I would copy the entire inZOI folder for easier future use. You can access the same location by entering the following address in Windows Run or File Explorer.
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\inZOI\SaveGames\
inZOI Steam Features
inZOI has support for Steam Cloud, which means that you can easily pick up your progress on a different device. inZOI can technically run on the Steam Deck as well, but I wouldn’t recommend it in its current state. The developers have confirmed that they need a while to properly optimize it for that hardware.
In addition to Steam Cloud, inZOI has support for Steam Family Sharing as well. Anyone from your family added to your Steam Family can access it, even in its current early access form. Outside of that, though, you’re probably going to have to wait for achievements, trading cards, and point shop items. It has none of those right now.
Overall, it seems like KRAFTON has another hit on its hands. With no major Sims release in sight, the studio behind the game seized the opportunity to give fans of the genre what they were hoping for. This is a graphically impressive, highly customizable, Sims-like experience that’s easy to get lost in.
The developers are already addressing the ongoing issues at launch with hofixes, and the reviews are “Very Positive” as of now. inZOI is expected to be in early access for at least a year, but all major systems are currently available in the game.
