As you make your way around Elden Ring’s first area, you’ll no doubt come across the Bridge of Sacrifice. That’s where you get to learn what a giant, flaming ballista arrow tastes like. On the other side, though, is a woman named Irina, who seems content to just camp out in Godrick territory. Clearly she’s more brave than you are. She actually has a quest, asking you to deliver a letter to her father in Morne. Naturally, things get more complicated than mail delivery.

If you haven’t met Irina yet, you need to head south, past Agheel Lake. Try not to get dragon-murdered on the way. You’ll be shot at as soon as you get to the bridge, but you can lure some guards out and deal with them outside the ballista range. Get behind it and you’re safe. Irina is sitting by the road not far from the Grace point.
After you get the Irina’s Letter item, now you have to make it to Castle Morne. Just keep heading south until you reach the literal bottom of this continent. But be careful! On your way to the map totem, you’ll meet another new long-distance friend. There should be several messages warning of a “sniper” just before you’re in range. After that you have to use the terrain as you make your way to the source.
The source is a massive Elden Mecha or something, and it isn’t easy to sneak up on. Luckily, if you can avoid its shots this fiery golem is actually kind of a pushover. And once you take it out, it doesn’t respawn. Welcome to Castle Morne! It’s terrible. Everything here is terrible.
Morne is totally overrun by Misbegotten, and there are some dogs in the first clearing as well. But first, you can stop at a Grace point and ride an elevator up to the carnage. You can sneak by the Misbegotten celebrating on the pile of corpses, but you have to deal with the dogs. There are two up the stairs to the right, then three more on the way to the back. After the dogs you’ll find a Lesser Pumpkin Head who seems very sad about being Lesser.
Beyond the Pumpkin Head is a little maze through the castle, full of Misbegotten. You’ll learn to deal with these things pretty quick. You don’t have to go far though. There’s one ladder, and climbing up it will take you to an immediate scrap. Along the path is another grounded Misbegotten, and two fliers. These ones can mess you up, so try to lure them separately with Bone Darts. After you beat them, you can jump down from the little wooden platform to another passage down below.
Fight your way to the end there and you’ll see a ladder leading around a corner. Irina’s father, Edgar, is sitting there on a bench, brooding like any good lone survivor would. Give him the letter, then talk to him about why he won’t leave. From here you can either go back to Irina, or continue exploring the area. You’ll end up going behind the castle either way, where a group of jellyfish mark your path forward. Don’t fight the jellyfish; they aren’t hostile.
This is a boss fight, of course. You’ll be up against Leonine Misbegotten, who is very fast and loud and ugly. Beating it is a matter of dodging its blows and punishing its bigger swings. Summoning is a good idea! Spirit Ashes work too. Winning nets you the Grafted Blade Greatsword, the weapon Edgar is doing a very bad job protecting. Go back to him and he’ll thank you, and let you keep the sword.
To close out the quest, head back to where you met Irina and talk to Edgar one more time. You’ll get a Shibari Grape for your troubles.
