DYN Campaign Mission 2 Walkthrough in Tempest Rising – 100% Completion

The DYN campaign’s mission 2 has a lot of objectives, but it’s also crucial. It teaches you the foundations of the game, so do be sure to pay attention.

While it might have the highest number of objectives compared to all the other missions, it is easy to beat and doesn’t take long. Here’s how to complete the Informant mission with a 100% completion rate in Tempest Rising.

How to Finish the Informant Mission in Tempest Rising – 100% Completion

Main Objectives:

• Recapture the Dynasty Construction Yard
• Build a Power Plant
• Build a Machine Shop
• Build a Radar Station
• Locate the Dynasty Spy
• Break into the GDF base and secure the VIP
• Destroy the Riot Van.

Secondary Objectives:

• Disarm Mines 0/4
• Recover the Salvage Van from the GDF
• Deploy the Tempest Rig at the target zone.
• Have Technicians Lay Mines in the target zone.
• Use Distribution Mode on a Power Plant.
• Destroy the GDF Data Core.
• Use Mine Drop in the target zone.

Secondary objectives will be in bold when you read through the main objectives.

Recapture the Dynasty Construction Yard

You’ll start with a small army that you have to bring to the Dynasty Construction Yard. You’ll have some Technicians with you, and be taught how to disarm mines on the bridge using this unit. Disarm the mines to finish the secondary objective and cross the bridge. Once you disarm one mine, the Technician automatically disarms the others.

After crossing the bridge, there are a few enemies at the intersection. Clear them before moving on. Recover the Salvage Van in the south before moving to the Construction Yard to finish the secondary objective.

Once you reach the Dynasty Construction Yard, use your Technician to capture it. You’ll also receive a Tempest Rig and deploy it at the nearby Tempest zone to finish another secondary objective.

Build a Power Plant, Machine Shop, and Radar Station

Once you have the Construction Yard, follow the building objectives to learn this aspect of the game. Build a secondary Power Plant immediately if you want to set a plan for the buffs in your Construction Yard.

While setting up your base, you’ll also get two secondary objectives. Use your Technician to plant some mines south of your base, and use the Distribution mode on your Power Plant to finish both secondary objectives.

At this point, we want to build a big army and increase our resources. After finishing all the building objectives, start creating Tempest Rigs (two of them) and harvest the Tempest on your base’s south and southeast sides.

Make sure you deploy them in areas where the Tempest or resources respawn. When you have three actively mining Tempest Rigs, you can have two Machine Shops and two Barracks continuously training units.

Start building your second Machine Shop and Barracks, and expand your army. Once you reach around 40-50 population, with a good mix of anti-infantry and tanks, you’ll be ready to move on to the next objective.

Locate the Dynasty Spy, break into the GDF base, and secure the VIP

Once you have enough units, start clearing the area to work your way to the Dynasty Spy and take out enemies who can potentially attack your Tempest Rigs.

At this point, your army is big enough to attack-move on any GDF bases. Move to the center of the map to destroy the GDF Data Core for the secondary objective. You can switch your attack-move command settings to target everything, so your units also attack the buildings.

Attack the main GDF base and secure the VIP. Once you destroy the wall in the GDF base, it’ll trigger the next main objective.

Destroy the Riot Van

After destroying the wall, a Riot Van should appear and run for it. A secondary objective will pop up, and you will need to use Mine Drop in the target area. Look to the panel on your left and look for the “Mine Drop” icon. Use it in the target area near the airstrike to complete the secondary objective.

Don’t chase the Riot Van until you finish this Mine Drop secondary objective. You’ll finish the whole mission after destroying the Riot Van.
