You can get plenty of transformations for custom characters in Xenoverse 2, but one of the more tedious ones to unlock is Kaioken. This article will cover exactly how to unlock the Kaioken transformation in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2—like many of the secrets and unlockables in the original game, unlocking Kaioken is more luck than anything else.
How to Unlock Kaioken
In order to unlock Kaioken you must play through the Saiyan Saga. In the Parallel Quest, Invade Earth (Parallel Quest 8), you must defeat all of the enemies while also allowing Nappa to survive. This causes you to battle against the revived Goku. If you defeat Goku you may earn the Kaioken reward.
Obtaining the reward is random and may take a number of attempts before you get it. If you don’t receive the new transformation after your first few attempts, just keep repeating Parallel Quest 8 until you unlock it.
Generally speaking, the Super Saiyan transformations are more powerful than the Kaioken transformation. However, it’s a bit easier to unlock Kaioken. While Kaioken is active, at one bar of Ki you have normal Kaioken, with three bars giving you Kaioken x3 and five bars providing Kaioken x20. Kaioken continuously drains your stamina, but makes your attacks stronger in the process.
