Does Rise of the Ronin Have Character Customization? – Answered

Exploring a massive world with a character that you’ve devoted your time and effort into creating is one of the most gratifying things possible in a game. Can you make your own character in Rise of the Ronin, or are you stuck with a specific protagonist?

Is There a Character Creator in Rise of the Ronin?

While all of the pre-release footage has showcased a strikingly handsome individual roaming the world of Rise of the Ronin, you’ll be able to create your own character in this PlayStation 5 exclusive release. According to the FAQ for Rise of the Ronin, gender-neutral terms are used when describing the Character Creator so it appears that we may be able to create any type of Samurai for this adventure.

If previous Team Ninja games are anything to go off of, the character creator in Rise of the Ronin should be rather in-depth, allowing players to create anything that they’re dreaming of. It will likely not be as in-depth as the Dragon’s Dogma 2 Character Creator — there’s nothing on the market quite like it, to be fair — but we should be able to make either the most gorgeous of Samurai or the most horrifying of creatures that shouldn’t have been allowed to walk on this Earth with ease.

Alongside the ability to swap between difficulties, it seems that Rise of the Ronin could be the perfect entry point for those hoping to join in on the Souls-like fun, all while exploring the Edo period of Japanese history with their own created character. I’m already planning on trying to recreate the Ronin from Yojimbo, myself.
