Are There Shiny Pals in Palworld? – How to Get Lucky Pals

Watch as your pals shimmer and sparkle in the sunlight.

Shiny Pokemon are famous for their rarity, so much so that you’ll hear phrases like “shiny hunting” and “shiny resetting” to describe the journey to catching one in a Pokemon game. Palworld has a similar feature known as Lucky Pals, but some notable differences exist.

Are There Shiny Pals in Palworld?

Yes and no. In Palworld, “shiny” creatures are known as Lucky Pals rather than shiny ones. Lucky Pals randomly spawn in the wild, are rarer than their normal versions, and appear with unique sparkles, sound effects, and passive traits. Outside of this, they don’t change in appearance or behavior.

What Are Lucky Pals in Palworld?

Lucky Pals are stronger, shining variants of regular creatures in Palworld. In the overworld, they’ll appear with glittering light and a sparkling sound to indicate their presence. They are also more challenging to defeat in battle, requiring extra effort to weaken and catch them.

The image below shows an example of Lucky Pals appearing in the wild. While the Celaray’s glittering light is slightly challenging to notice in the sunlight, the Daedream was obvious, as it was pitch black out otherwise and illuminated the Pal.

Like regular Pals, you can weaken Lucky Pals and catch them to add them to your party, allowing you to put them to work, use them in battle, or take cute pictures with them as you see fit.

Are Lucky Pals the Same as Shiny Forms in Palworld?

Lucky Pals are similar to creatures like shiny Pokemon, as they’re rarer than their regular counterparts. However, one main difference is that Lucky Pals are much stronger than their regular counterparts, while Pokemon shiny forms are purely cosmetic. Lucky Pals also don’t differ significantly from their regular variations besides their sparkling light and sound effects.

Furthermore, Lucky Pals are more common, and you’re almost guaranteed to find a few during your playthrough if you keep an eye out for them.

In other words, collecting a shiny Pokemon is a fun accomplishment due to its rarity, but it has no gameplay advantage. Lucky Pals, on the other hand, can be a great addition to your roster due to their increased strength, giving the incentive to look out for them and catch as many as possible.

How to Find Lucky Pals in Palworld

Lucky Pals spawn randomly around the map, with no way to increase their spawn rate or guarantee they’ll appear. However, you’ll know one is around when you see a Pal shimmering in golden sparkles and hear its sound effect. These signs indicate one is nearby, and with a bit of searching, you’ll eventually spot one in the area.

The main way to increase your odds of spotting one is to watch the Pals around you. After all, if you’re focused on building your base or questing, you may miss a Lucky Pal a few feet away from you.

Lucky Pal Bonuses in Palworld

Lucky Pals spawn with an exclusive lucky passive skill that boosts their work speed and attack by 15 percent each. If you’re really lucky, they’ll come with other passives that improve other aspects of the Pal, turning them into a powerhouse.

Aside from this, a few notable differences differentiate them from regular Pals. Nonetheless, their work speed and attack boost can help you significantly around your base and during combat, so it’s worth having them in your party if their other stats and skills are helpful.
