Octopath Traveler 2 is a perfect homage to classical 2D graphics JRPGs, and the sequel to an equally awesome banger. Just like its predecessor, its 8 different paths are independent stories with their own protagonists, and you decide which one you’ll be playing with at the start. With all of the new additions included in this sequel, don’t think you’ll be putting this game aside before putting some good dozens of hours into it.
But after finally making the credits roll, what’s left to do in this world? Can you just start all over again, carrying your previous items, money, and levels into a whole new playthrough, or is it completely done? Find out if Octopath Traveler 2 does have a New Game + below.
Does Octopath Traveler 2 Have a New Game Plus Mode?
Octopath Traveler 2 has no New Game Plus, just like its predecessor. The game does take some time to finish, and you can keep your progress in your current save file after clearing the game, as there’s still a lot to explore in Solistia after that.
Not only can you now complete all of those side quests you previously ignored, but you can also tackle some new post-game content with the travelers. The game doesn’t boast a specific reason for having a New Game +, so no such option was included, and this is probably for the best. As much as one can love the game, going through it all over again just for a few pieces of content might feel more like a chore.

The game is available on PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PS5. Despite the first title being available for Xbox (still included in the Game Pass, also), the sequel is nowhere to be seen in their library for some strange reason. The game might still be made available anytime soon, so keep your eyes open.
