Final Fantasy Resonance demo has been out for a while and some players have spent a considerable amount of time with it. The game launches on October 22, 2026 so many are asking if their progress from the demo carries over to Final Fantasy Resonance.
Does FF Resonance Demo Save File Carry Over?
Yes, Final Fantasy Resonance demo progress will carry over to the main game once you purchase it.
The demo includes the game’s complete first chapter, which takes roghly three to five hours. Exploring thoroughly, completing side quests, hunting optional bosses, and collecting everything can extend your playtime a lot more.
The demo is available on:

- Nintendo Switch
- Nintendo Switch 2
- Steam
- Xbox on PC
As long as you keep your demo save data, you can continue from that progress in the full version.
How Does Final Fantasy Resonance Demo Save Transfer Work?
When you launch the full version of Final Fantasy Resonance, the game can detect compatible demo save data and let you continue from where you stopped.
You should play the demo on the same platform and account you intend to use for the full game. Square Enix has confirmed that demo saves transfer into the retail version, but there has been no announcement of cross-platform demo save transfers.
However, do note that characters can only reach Level 15 in the demo, while each Vision’s Mastery Rank is capped at Rank 5. EXP earned is not stored, so there’s no point grinding character levels before launch.
What Should You Do Before Finishing the Demo?
Since all of this progress carries over, you can just treat the demo as the first chapter of the game. Here’s everything you should get done in Final Fantasy Resonance chapter 1 via the demo:
- Collect all five available Visions
- Raise Vision Mastery Ranks
- Find all 12 Tablet Shards
- Collect Magicite Shards
- Complete side quests
- Defeat the Marauder and Antlion
- Search the early dungeons for missable equipment
- Stock up on harder-to-find items such as Ethers
There’s a useful Mastery farming spot around the desert oasis near Kol, where Cactuars can give around 50 Mastery Points or more per fight. Playing on Expert difficulty also increases Mastery rewards, and you can change difficulty at any time. You can also find enough Magicite Shards to awaken all five available Visions.
Can You Keep Playing After Finishing the Final Fantasy Resonance Demo?
The demo ends when you board the ship at Grandport. You’ll be prompted to save before returning to the title screen. Loading that completed save places you back before the point of departure, allowing you to keep exploring and clearing content before
