Fallout 76 is enjoying a massive resurgence thanks to all the new players who have joined the post-apocalyptic world of Appalachia. Many newcomers have also wondered if the survival video game has a dedicated story mode/campaign.
Is There a Story Mode in Fallout 76?
While this game is very different from other titles of the series, there’s a well-defined campaign that is very much available. In fact, the sandbox experience is well guided by the questline, which guides new players towards a definite path regarding which activities to complete at first.
While players will always need to be connected to the internet to enjoy the content, Fallout 76 is not strictly a PvP title by any stretch of the imagination. In fact, players can choose to play the game as a single-player experience and enjoy the same quests and story missions.
The main story has core missions, which have to be discovered and completed for plenty of different rewards. Side missions are also available all over the world map, which always provides additional benefits along with tons of XP. Daily and time-limited quests are also available for players of all levels (although players must reach a certain level to undertake the more challenging assignments successfully).
The story mode of Fallout 76 is a hybrid model, which has elements of single-player and live service content. This keeps things fresh, but completing the live service content is optional. Players can concentrate on the main and side quests, similar to games like Fallout 4.
There are also additional options for players to create a world that is exclusive to either them or their friends. It comes with the Fallout 1st service, so that’s another option to explore potentially. However, players can turn off PvP from settings and enjoy the story as a mixture of single-player and co-op experiences at their own pace.
