Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a gorgeous game that features a massive world, and it would be an incredible game to take on the go. While the first game had some pretty modest system settings, does Dragon’s Dogma 2 run on Steam Deck?
Can You Play Dragon’s Dogma 2 on Steam Deck?
While it pains me to say it, Dragon’s Dogma 2 is not a good fit for the Steam Deck, even if you crank the graphics down to their lowest level. It’s a very CPU-intensive game, with some of the most advanced graphics cards on the market hardly putting a dent in it. There are plenty of games that work great on the portable PC, but this is not one of them.
You’ll hardly be able to eke out 20fps in this one, so if you’re planning on picking Dragon’s Dogma 2 up for an exclusive Steam Deck experience, you’re going to want to rip your own heart out before you even get a chance to start exploring the world. At least you can still experience Dragon’s Dogma by playing Dark Arisen, but we can only hope some tweaks come out in the future that could make the game at least playable by some standard.
For grins, I also tried to test it on the AyaNeo Air 1S since it does boast more graphical prowess than the Steam Deck, and the results weren’t much better. Portable players may just need to upgrade their PC or pick it up on a console if they’re hoping to jump into the world of Dragon’s Dogma 2 without sacrificing nearly everything to make it run at a nigh-unplayable framerate.
No matter if you want to find out what the console versions run at for FPS or if you just need some extra help slaying these massive monsters, be sure to check out our section below to learn more about Dragon’s Dogma 2 and what it has to offer for you.
