You can find over 100 side dungeons around the Diablo 4 map. From the center of Fractured Peaks to a far-off corner of Hawezar, you’ll have to travel to all kinds of dangerous spots just to enter, well, another dangerous place. Onyx Hold is one of many examples of this, except it’s a little harder to find than your average dungeon. If you want to learn more, continue reading to discover where to find the Onyx Hold dungeon and how to clear it in Diablo 4.
Where to Find the Onyx Hold Dungeon in Diablo 4
Onyx Hold dungeon is in the Dry Steppes, next to the Onyx Watchtower Stronghold. After conquering this stronghold, you’ll gain access to the Onyx Watchtower Waypoint alongside the Onyx Hold dungeon. If this is your first time going to the Onyx Watchtower, you can arrive here by traveling southeast from Ked Bardu or west from Fate’s Retreat.

Diablo 4 – Onyx Hold Dungeon Walkthrough
Upon entering this dungeon, you’ll immediately see a task asking you to slay every enemy in the Rotting Penitentiary. Yes, all of them. Check any hidden side rooms for monsters, as it’s very easy to lose track of where you’ve been and miss a few random minions here and there. This happens to me all the time, and trust me; I’m also not the biggest fan of backtracking to kill two random skeletons in a hidden room.
After defeating every enemy in the dungeon, you’ll venture into the Bastille of the Damned and move on to the final part: slaying Languishing Corpses. There are three spread around this last section, and they act as mini-bosses rather than one beefy final boss.
Once you defeat the Languishing Corpses, you’ll clear the Onyx Hold dungeon and receive the Storm Swell Aspect as a reward, which you can view in your Codex of Power anytime.
