Today’s Destiny: The Taken King feature will tell you how to get the Ace of Spades Exotic Hand Cannon. Keep in mind only Hunters can equip and use this weapon, and it is impossible to receive in a random drop; Warlocks and Titans have their own Exotic weapons. In order to obtain the Ace of Spaces, you need to finish two quests for the Gunsmith, Banshee-44, who you will find at the Tower.
Reach Gunsmith Rank 3
To begin, make sure you level your Gunsmith to Rank 3. This automatically unlocks the Back in the Saddle quest that puts you on the path to scoring the Ace of Spaces. Pay Banshee-44 a visit every Armsday and field-test weapons he has available. Doing this is the easiest way to boost your Gunsmith reputation to the desired level. Even better, you’re free to dismantle all of the weapons once you finish field-testing them. However, using them means watching your Light level plummet, since these guns only possess a 200-attack value.
Slaughter 100 Enemies
After reaching Rank 3, go to Banshee-44 for your quest. While chatting with the guy, pick up a Primary Weapon Telemetry, along with a Hand Cannon. If there’s one to field-test, all the better.
Proceed to Orbit and then select Earth. Choose to Patrol and you will spawn at the Steppes. Kick things off by equipping said Hand Cannon and then using up the Primary Weapon Telemetry, which you’ll see in your Guardian’s inventory. After doing this, move around the Steeps clockwise. Four groups of enemies will appear, and all you want to do is continue traveling in a circle while slaughtering whatever gets in your way. You should be able to kill anywhere from 15-20 enemies each time you pass, and this part of the quest will take roughly 15 minutes. Thankfully your Telemetry lasts for 30 minutes, giving you plenty of time.
Now that you have 100 kills, go to the Tower and once again chat with Banshee-44. Now he wants you to dismantle 10 Hand Cannons. Do this and he’ll give you the Ace of Spades. From what we discovered, Legendary Hand Cannons are worth five, while Rare Hand Cannons are worth two. Do what we did and dismantle Year 1 Legendary Hand Cannons. You probably have a ton inside your Guardian’s inventory at the Tower.
If for some reason you don’t have enough Hand Cannons, you’ll need to grind a bit to acquire these weapons. Conversely you can purchase Hand Cannons with Legendary Marks. Much better than waiting for these items to drop while replaying the same story missions and strikes.
Now you possess the powerful Ace of Spaces. For more Destiny weapons, visit Prima’s Walkthrough and Guide for The Taken King, where we tell you how to get the Boolean Gemini Exotic Scout Rifle and Touch of Malice.
