CS2 September 27 and 28 2023 Release Patch Notes

This game will have more patches than a pirate ship in the end.

There were both positive and negative aspects to the release of CS2, including good features and improvements as well as some problems and missing features. With time, CS2 will likely pick up the pace and include all features missing from CS:GO. There will be many patches until then, which we will gladly follow in the upcoming period. CS2 Patch Notes for September 27 and 28 2023 Releases

It seems Valve is trying to deliver as many fixes and updates as humanly possible in the post-release of CS2, no matter how minor the tweaks may be. Below, you can see the release notes for 9/27/2023 and 9/28/2023. A large patch was released on September 27, but the update we will cover in this article was dubbed “Night.” If you need to check out the major update on September 27, we have you covered:

CS2 Release Notes for 9/28/2023


  • Fixed missing win/loss/MVP music in Casual


  • Put range clamps on r_fullscreen_gamma, r_texture_stream_max_resolution, and r_character_decal_resolution
  • Fixed smokes not rendering correctly on AMD GPUs on Linux


  • Adjusted grenade throw animations to reduce view obstruction
  • Fixed a case where players would float a few inches off the ground after spawning

[ MAPS ]

  • Various bug fixes and tweaks to Mirage and Overpass


  • Various bug fixes and tweaks to weapon finishes and stickers
  • Updated Phoenix Soldier balaclava from green to original red color
  • Fixed missing pouches on certain SWAT agents

[ MISC ]

  • Fixed a bug where loadout shuffle would never happen
  • Increased clickable area of sellback buttons in buy menu
  • Fixed a case where the death panel would stay on-screen after respawning quickly
  • Disabled CSTV and demo recording temporarily to increase server availability so more people can play

CS2 Release Notes for 9/27/2023 Night


  • Weapon sounds will no longer sound like they come from the spot you are zoomed into


  • Updated water in Nuke to fix an issue with smoke
  • Reduced maximum amount of water refraction since it was looking too noisy/distracting

[ MISC ]

  • Fixed a case where the death panel wouldn’t show
  • Fixed a case where the preview crosshair wouldn’t show in game settings
  • Fixed a case where debug text would appear on the crosshair
