Control Resonant Save File Location on PC

Control Resonant is out now on PC and consoles, serving as a direct sequel to 2019’s Control. The PC version supports cloud saves on both Steam and the Epic Games Launcher, but if you want to access your local progress files, here’s where to find the Control Resonant save file location.

If you’re playing the Steam version, your save files are located within the main Steam installation folder. Navigate to where Steam is installed and open userdata. There, you’ll find several numbered folders. Sort these folders by date and open the most recently modified one. This is your Steam ID folder.
Inside, you’ll find numerous folders, but you’re looking for 3669870, the unique Steam app ID for Control Resonant. You can sort this folder by date again to bring it closer to the top.
Open 3669870 to find your save data for all your slots. For Epic Games Launcher, you can find the save data in the CONTROLResonant folder within Local > Remedy. Interestingly, this folder is created even if you’re playing the Steam version and includes the configuration file (renderer.ini).
Control Resonant Steam Features
On PC, Control Resonant has the following Steam features:
- Steam Cloud: Your progress is automatically uploaded to the Steam Cloud after you close the title and downloaded again if you access the game on a different device.
- Steam Family Sharing: If you own a copy of Control Resonant, members of your Steam family can access it in their libraries.
- Steam Input: While the game has native support for multiple controllers, you can use Steam Input to get third-party controllers working with little trouble.
- Steam Trading Cards: As you play through Control Resonant, you’ll receive trading card drops, which contribute to badge progress and can be sold on the marketplace.
- Achievements: Control Resonant has 49 unique achievements on Steam.
As of this writing, Control Resonant hasn’t been verified for the Steam Deck.

Like the original, Remedy has put a lot of work into Control Resonant, and it looks excellent on PC. It makes good use of the Steam client and there are no immediately obvious issues to report.
