The answer is yes, you can romance multiple characters in Baldur’s Gate 3… but some exclusions apply. Some characters, such as Karlach and Lae’zel, will be okay with an open relationship at first, but will want a monogamous relationship after Act One. Only certain Origin characters will agree to a polyamorous relationship in the long run, and under certain circumstances.

Which Baldur’s Gate 3 Origin Characters are Monogamous?

The Origin characters who will never accept a polyamorous relationship starting in Act Two under any circumstance are:

  • Gale
  • Karlach
  • Lae’zel
  • and Wyll.

There is a catch, however: Origin characters will not accept a polyamorous relationship with each other starting in Act Two. You will have to choose between Astarion and Shadowheart, even if you’re seeking a polyamorous relationship.
