Can You Romance Jaheira in Baldur’s Gate 3?
Jaheira has a sort of regal, no-nonsense demeanor that some people find irresistible. But can you romance Jaheira? Unfortunately, the answer is no. Jaheira, like another companion you’ll potentially unlock in Act 3, has put you squarely in the platonic zone.
And when it comes to matters of the heart and pretty much everything else, Jaheira enforces some pretty strong boundaries. But that doesn’t mean that she doesn’t have anything going for her.

Jaheira, as one of the leaders of the Harpers, is well-entrenched in Baldur’s Gate city. And it’s there that she has sweeping connections and ample lore, from past relationships (if only that were you) to her current hodgepodge family. If you keep her in your party and dig into some of the easy-to-overlook parts of Baldur’s Gate 3, you can also kick off a quest that might lead you to recruit an entirely new party member and a much deeper understanding of our favorite grumpy grandma.
That said, if you really want a strong older woman to boss you around, have you considered Minthara? She’s even older than Jaheira, and with a recent update, you can recruit her without having to set fire to the grove.
If you do this, you’ll find that she’s not actually as evil as you first believed. And, frankly, Minthara is one of the best characters in the game. An update in January 2024 even lets you kiss her. Another win for people with questionable romantic tastes.
