Can You Preload Hogwarts Legacy on Steam?

If you’re familiar with Hogwarts Legacy preloading, you may know that this option has been available for Xbox Series X|S since January, with PlayStation 5 players able to now too. With PC early access open on February 7 at 1 PM ET and the official global launch on February 10, you may initially suspect that preloading will become available soon. While some reports from the official Warner Bros. Support page claimed that preloading would not be available on PC, it was revealed on February 6 that we can, in fact, preload through Steam.

Furthermore, if you’re playing on either Xbox or PlayStation, you can preload the game now and play starting at midnight in your local time zone.

To begin the preloading process, find Hogwarts Legacy in your Steam library and click the big “Preload” button where “download” or “play” usually sit on the main game screen. It’ll begin downloading from here as a regular game would.

The best part about beginning your Steam preload now is handling the 72.92 GB disk space requirement that the game initially presents you with. While this may be a small task for some, those with slower download speeds will save several hours by doing this.

Hogwarts Legacy will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch through the official website.
