Can You Change Your Voice in Warhammer 40K: Darktide? – Answered

Just a simple voice reconstruction, nothing too serious.

While Warhammer 40K: Darktide doesn’t have the most customization options of any game out there, what’s there is more than enough to satisfy most players. Being able to change features like height, hairstyles, eye color, and more let you express yourself however you please (and in our case, lets us recreate the Vermintide cast fairly well). When you’ve created your character, you may find yourself wanting to change a few things about them, and voice is just one of those features. Here’s whether you can change your voice in Warhammer 40K: Darktide.

Is Your Voice Changeable in Darktide?

If we take a walk over to the Chirurgeon in the Mourningstar, who can be found across from the Armoury Exchange on the left of the ship, you’ll notice he offers plenty of ways to change your character’s appearance. This includes your eye color, tattoos, scars, and much more. While this is incredibly far into the future, there are some things the Chirurgeon is simply incapable of changing. These include stats such as height, name, gender, and background, seeing as the 40K universe sadly hasn’t invented these features yet.

Because of this, unfortunately, you can’t change your voice in Darktide. This is likely due to a technical reason with how customization is coded, though it’s also quite difficult for the Chirurgeon to give you an entirely different voice without destroying it in the process. It’s quite a shame since you might be annoyed by your character’s voice in hindsight, though you’ll have to put up with it unless you’re willing to restart the character entirely for it.

While voice changing isn’t an available option after making your character, you don’t get a huge amount of choices anyways. Without starting on the planet of Cadia, you’re restricted to just two options for your gender and class. Even if you were given the option, the alternative may not have been great either.
