Can You Catch and Rescue Dragons in Hogwarts Legacy?

The solution to this question partially depends on how we catch or rescue this dragon. However, one simple answer is to say that no, you can’t catch dragons using your Nab-Sack. This also means you can’t bring any to your Vivariums or breed them. The main reason for this is that there are no wild dragons or dens in Hogwarts Legacy, giving you zero opportunities to rescue them in the first place.

However, you technically can rescue a dragon in Hogwarts Legacy. It’s just not in the way you’d initially expect. There are some story and friendship quest spoilers ahead, though, so be careful when scrolling further.

Rescuing a Dragon During Quests

During the main story, you’ll work alongside Poppy Sweeting to investigate a poacher hideout. Throughout this journey, you’ll discover them housing and abusing a dragon, leading to you two eliminating a large group of enemies and rescuing the beast.

While you won’t catch the beast with your Nab-Sack or get the beast as a flying mount, you can continue your adventures knowing that you saved the dragon from further harm.
