Brawl Stars is a challenging team-based game that charges players with capturing a set of gems while defending themselves against other players. Like other MOBAs, Brawl Stars takes a very team-oriented approach, and can be a bit difficult to get a feel for at first. If you’re just getting started in Brawl Stars, then you’re going to need a good set of tips to help you get started. This beginner guide will point out several helpful tips for new players to keep in mind when they first dive into Brawl Stars.

Play as a Team

Brawl Stars is all about playing as a team, and while it’s possible to focus solely on becoming the Star Player every match, working with your teammates is extremely vital if you want to remain alive throughout the match and take home the gold. Whether you’re playing Gem Grab or taking part in one of the many other game modes available, playing as a team should always be at the forefront of your mind. Stick close to your teammates and try not to run astray, as it will often lead to you being defeated by enemy players who gang up on you.

Learn to Block and Corner

Blocking and cornering are two very important techniques to learn and master as you play Brawl Stars. As you fight in Brawl Stars, you’ll notice that there are several pieces of terrain like rocks and even tall grass situated on the battlefield. These items can be used to not only hide from enemies, but also to lead them into traps. If you have an enemy using terrain to hide from your shots, head around one side while your teammate heads around the other. This is referred to as cornering, and can be a useful way to deal with enemies.

Likewise, blocking is also an important strategy to pick up on. Since Brawl Stars is so heavily focused on teamwork, having your teammate’s back is going to be a key component of the game. Pay attention to your teammate’s health bar and then, if you can, position yourself between the enemy and your teammate to take the brunt of the damage. This can be very useful for keeping your teammates alive throughout the match, especially in Gem Grab, where you’ll want to stay alive as long as possible.

Do Not Overextend Yourself

It can be easy to get lost in the game. You’re going ham on your enemies, taking them out and slowly pushing further and further into their territory. Be careful, though, as this can easily lead to you overextending yourself and pushing too far without the support of your teammates. This almost always ends in your death, as the enemy can quickly surround and overwhelm you. Make sure you aren’t overextending yourself as you not only put yourself at risk, but also risk losing the match for your team.

At the end of the day, Brawl Stars is a game that’s easy to pick up but difficult to master, and it’s going to take you time to pick up on all the small intricacies of the game. Just be patient, work with your team, and make sure you aren’t overextending yourself during matches to ensure your own survival and raise the chances of your team’s success.
