Well into Season 1 Reloaded of Modern Warfare 2, the Vaznev-9k submachine gun is still one of the best options available for nearly any class. If you’ve been watching the CDL or playing in some Search and Destroy matches, then you’ve certainly seen more than your fair share of the Kastov branch-based SMG.
Other than the Fennec after the most recent update, the Vaznev-9k is certainly the most reliable submachine gun in Call of Duty: MW2, and it even has some fantastic loadouts in Warzone 2. But we’re going to focus on the best loadout for multiplayer. We’ll cover all the attachments you need for a deadly Vaznev within MW2.
COD MW2 Season 1 Reloaded – Best Vaznev-9k Loadout
The goal of this build is to capitalize on the hybrid identity of this Kastov-based weapon. By default, the Vaznev-9k has tons of close-quarters damage potential and will really only lose to the Fennec. However, the Vaznev is far better at mid-range and the headshot multiplier is much higher. We want to enhance that capability, and you can find all the pieces for that below.
- Receiver: Vaznev-9k
- Barrel: SA Response III
- Muzzle: FTAC Castle Comp
- Rear Grip: True-Tac Grip
- Stock: Markeev R7 Stock
- Laser: Schlager PEQ Box IV
Our first two attachments will solidify this submachine gun as the mid-range king over the Fennec in MW2. The SA Response III barrel and the FTAC Castle Comp muzzle will help with recoil control, damage range, and bullet velocity. You’ll be able to beam enemies at mid-range with ease, but you’ll still need to be careful against assault rifle players.

Next, we want to add the True-Tac Grip and the Markeev R7 Stock as counters to the first aspects. Both of these additions will ensure that there is full mobility on the Vaznev-9k in Modern Warfare 2, especially the Markeev. Without these, expect to feel like you’re stuck in the mud.
The last attachment for the build is the Schlager PEQ Box IV laser. There are a couple of other attachments you could try on your own, but this laser simply adds ADS speeds without any negatives. It won’t work in GBs, so simply leave that slot empty in those scenarios.
