The STB 556 is already one of the most deadly weapons in Modern Warfare 2, and it’s clearly in the top tier of assault rifles. Even without any attachments, this version of the classic AUG has a ton of potential damage per second and the control is almost unrivaled despite the high fire rate.
Out of all the weapons in the Bruen Bullpup platform tree, the 556 assault rifle variant is certainly the most effective. Even the iron sights work well and open up the fifth slot to make the STB a driving force on the field. In this guide, we’ll go over how to put together the best loadout for the STB 556 in Call of Duty: MW2.
Modern Warfare 2 – Best STB 556 Loadout
To make the most effective build on the STB 556, we’ll want to use some standard equipment mixed with mobility or control. At a base, the STB has some fantastic stats and we simply want to increase their capabilities. Below you’ll find all of the attachments you need for the loadout.
- Receiver: STB 556
- Barrel: 18″ Bruen Guerilla
- Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper 56
- Rear Grip: Bruen Q900 Grip
- Laser: VLK LZR 7mw
- Ammunition: 5.56 High Velocity
There are really only a couple of options for a barrel on the STB 556 and it’s an easy choice. The 18″ Bruen Guerilla will provide all of the necessary stats we look for in most assault rifle classes. You can expect some additional damage range, bullet velocity, and recoil control with this slot.

Next, we want to focus on the grip attachments for our loadout. Between the FTAC Ripper 56 underbarrel and the Bruen Q900 Rear Grip, the weapon will balance out. One gives the class more ADS speed and the other provides plenty of recoil stabilization along with idle sway reduction.
The last attachments are both interchangeable support items. First is the VLK LZR 7mw for some additional ADS speed. The laser will be visible when you ADS but the stats are fantastic. Then you’ll want the 5.56 High Velocity ammo for some more bullet velocity. Sights can be added instead but that’s a personal preference.
