Best FTAC Recon Loadout in Modern Warfare 2

A deadlier M4?

As the dust settles on the launch meta for Modern Warfare 2, some standout options are rising to the top, and the FTAC Recon is one Battle Rifle that is proving to be a powerful choice. This is one of the many weapons found in the M4 platform and is fairly easy to earn with just a few full matches played.

Like the standard M4, the FTAC Recon offers up a balanced Battle Rifle that is a jack of all trades. It has versatility that allows it to succeed at range or in close quarters. You’ll need some extra attachments to help with the base stats, but our loadout guide will walk you through everything required.

Modern Warfare 2 – Best FTAC Recon Loadout

When you put together the loadout for the FTAC Recon, the focus should be on control, range, and mobility. The goal is to have the weapon ready super fast while being able to send a two-shot kill down range with precision. All of the attachments needed are listed below.

  • Receiver: FTAC Recon
  • Barrel: Bull Rider 16.5″
  • Underbarrel: Edge-47 Grip
  • Rear Grip: XTEN Grip
  • Stock: Ravage-8
  • Laser: FSS OLE-V Laser

The first attachment is the Bull Rider 16.5″ barrel which serves as a two-in-one attachment. That means there won’t be any muzzle attachment you can equip. However, you’ll get a ton of damage range, bullet velocity, and recoil control in return. This barrel is an easy choice for any FTAC class.

Grip attachments are up next and we’ll need a rear grip along with an underbarrel. For those slots, the FTAC Recon needs the Edge-47 Grip and the XTEN Grip. The Edge-47 will help with the stabilization of the weapon while the XTEN Grip is based only on ADS and sprint-to-fire speed.

Last on the list is the Ravage-8 stock and the FSS OLE-V Laser. Together, the weapon will get an even larger boost to stability and ADS speed with minimal negatives to worry about. If you feel you need it, you can drop the stock for a sight, but the irons tend to hold up well.
