How to Find the Best Starter Character

Now, we will start off by saying that there is no default BEST character in Strange Brigade. Each character offers a different style of play, as well as different specialties and Amulet powers that really help you determine which character fits you the best.

As we said above, there are only four characters in Strange Brigade, but each one has their own little intricacies and abilities to keep in mind. For example, Frank Fairburne offers a tougher exterior, meaning he can take a few more hits than other characters can. This makes him a solid tank-like character, and you can make use of him if you often find yourself in the midst of battle without an easy way to get out.

If you’re looking for a more magically-attuned character, then Professor Quincey is the way to go. His wider soul gather radius ensures less running to build up his Amulet power, and he even has the ability to open up ancient alcoves, making him very useful for those on the collectible hunt, or just looking to explore every nook and cranny that you come across.

If explosives are more your forte, or if you’re just looking to beat the remaining life out of the undead, then Gracie Braithwaite is definitely a character worth keeping an eye on. She’s great with explosives, and her abilities in melee combat make her a must-use for those looking to bash the skulls of the undead in. She also uses a shotgun by default which can blow away just about anything without much worry.

If you enjoy running around and sensing things before they happen, then demon hunter Nalangu Rushida is going to be a solid choice for your starting character. While she might not have the magical attunement of the Professor, or even the tough exterior that Frank has to offer, her speed and agility make her a welcome addition to any battlefield that you find yourself on. Just be ready to move quickly, as letting her get surrounded could mean a quick and swift end.

Now that you know a little bit more about each character’s specialties, you should be better equipped to decide which character fits you best when you’re starting out. Of course, the Amulet powers that each character has are different as well, so make sure you check those out to see what each of those powers has to offer as well.
