One of the most hit-or-miss weapon platforms in Modern Warfare 2 has been the Ordnance set of weapons that includes the EBR-14 and the SO-14. Players who have tried the EBR have likely noticed that it can take out enemies in one shot to the head, and the semi-auto fire is fairly fast.
The SO-14 is the battle rifle variant of the EBR, and it’s even more versatile in MW2. To make the most of the weapon, though, you’ll need some attachments that allow for versatility at multiple ranges. Our loadout guide will go over all the attachment slots you need for the best build in COD.
Modern Warfare 2 – Best SO-14 Loadout
To make the most of this build, we want to ensure that you can utilize semi-auto or full-auto fire depending on the situation. We like to use this loadout mainly with semi-auto, but either case is viable. All five of the attachments you need can be found below.
- Receiver: SO-14
- Barrel: 22″ Boremaster Barrel
- Muzzle: Sakin Tread-40
- Underbarrel: VX Pineapple
- Stock: FTAC RTP-40 Stock
- Optic: Cronen Mini Pro
Barrel attachments are where we’ll start with this battle rifle build and the goal here is to reduce the recoil while increasing the overall damage range. The 22″ Boremaster Barrel is a bit heavy, but it contains those stats along with bullet velocity. Add the Sakin Tread-40 to the muzzle and your weapon will feel super easy to shoot.

As for the supporting attachments, we want to focus on the ADS speed and some extra control on the SO-14. Without having the FTAC RTP-40 Stock, the SO-14 will simply be too slow for most Modern Warfare 2 scenarios. Having the RTP-40 also allows us to attach the VX Pineapple for more stability.
The last piece is the Cronen Mini Pro optic which allows for good vision and has a blue dot. You can always change the optic to your preference, but we find this one to be the most versatile.
