Best SMGs in COD Warzone 2 Season 3 Listed

Take over in close quarters.

Submachine guns and assault rifles are the most versatile weapons in Call of Duty: Warzone 2 and there are plenty of options to choose from that are considered great. Unlike the ranged weapons though, the SMGs are the clear kings of close-quarters action, and utilizing the right ones can save your match.

With the updates to weapons that were added with Season 3, it can be hard to tell which SMGs have the best potential. That’s why our guide is here to cover which of the fast-paced weapons are currently the best in Warzone 2 so you don’t have to guess any longer. Here’s our list of the best SMGs in COD Warzone 2.

COD Warzone 2 Season 3 – Best Submachine Guns Listed

There are nine SMGs in total and only one has been added through DLC since the battle royale went live back in November. Out of those nine, only five of them are currently considered meta options for any players looking to build sniper supports or close-range loadouts. You can find them all listed below with some brief descriptions.

Best SMGs Warzone 2 Season 3:

  • Vaznev-9k – This is still the best close quarters weapon for nearly any loadout, and it really isn’t close. Only broken shotguns can put up a fight. There’s a reason battle royale and Multiplayer demons alike are running around using the Kastovia family variant. I would vouch for any speed demon to use the Vaznev-9k. Check out OpTic Shotzzy’s Vaznev-9k loadout here.
  • Lachmann Sub – Also known as the MP5, players have been using the Lachmann Sub as an alternative to the Vaz since launch. It doesn’t offer an overall package like the best gun at close quarters, but it comes close and can even hit just a little harder in some cases.
  • VEL 46 – With the Season 2 Reloaded update, the MP7 became of the best close quarters options in Multiplayer and Warzone 2. Once enough distance has been closed, you can easily melt enemy players, and this is another SMG I have been utilizing in Season 3.
  • BAS-P – I already enjoyed using this DLC submachine gun before, but Season 3 made the weapon viable in the latest meta. Try this out if you haven’t already.
  • Fennec 45 – Our last weapon on the list, the Fennec was once the best SMG in Warzone 2. It’s still a good pick in a bad situation. However, I wouldn’t bet my battle royale life on the weapon any longer.

Remember to keep some ranged options in your loadout along with these weapons, such as the FJX Imperium. Having a one-shot sniper along with the Vaznev-9k is easily one of my favorite combos and you’ll definitely have some fun with it in COD Warzone 2.
