How to Get Skill Points

You will get Skill Points as you complete enemy encounters, find collectibles, and defeat bosses. The amount gained varies from enemy to enemy, and collectibles, such as Dragon Shrines, give you 10 Skill Points for each one that you find. You can grind them by constantly fighting the same enemies, but this gets tedious.

Furthermore, Skill Points are shared between Emma and Koo, which means you’ll always be short on them. You also have to choose between upgrading Bloom Arts or unlocking and upgrading passive skills. Best Early Game Skill Upgrades for Emma

Most of your Skill Points will go to Emma as her unlocks provide more value compared to Koo. Here are the best skills to get for her:

• Recovery Effect Boost: This is the first skill on the attack tree and it increases the healing you receive from all sources up to 42.5%. Healing is scarce early-game making this a skill you need to level as soon as possible.
• Expand Entanglement Gauge: Your Entanglement Gauge dictates how many hits you can take, how many Bloom Skills you can perform and how long your Overdrive lasts. Get at least 3 to 4 upgrades into this early on.
• Instant Entanglement: Immediately filling up your Entanglement Gauge in the middle of a crowded fight can be the difference that lets you survive difficult encounters.
• Roll: Unlocking the roll lets you reposition and escape danger a lot more easily with an additional mobility option in your arsenal.
• Blade Art Shakuyuku: The basic Blade Art is relatively weak but should not be overlooked during the early-game as it can punish enemies a lot harder than your regular sword swings.
• Helm Splitter: While most of the health tree is not very useful, the Helm Splitter is a powerful aerial option that lets you deal a respectable amount of damage to enemies with a plunging attack.
• Cloaking Grass: Possibly the most useful skill on the health tree that gives you up to 15 seconds of stealth when crouching around enemies, making executions much easier.

• Detect Hidden Item: This upgrade is game-changing because it lets you bypass a lot of item discovery limits for upgrades as Koo procures items out of thin air. The earlier you get it, the more value you’ll get out of it.
• Taunt: Koo attracts all enemy aggro, making it much easier for you to land powerful combos on enemies or take a step back and heal.
• Sakura Javelin: This Skill deals respectable damage, scales quite well, applies shock, and gives you a mobility option mid-fight.
• Status Effect Amp: This is a powerful Mod that, when activated, boosts all applied statuses on enemies, causing half applied statuses to trigger.
• Higanbana Roots: Despite being a base skill, it can group enemies together and apply Bind. Bind is essentially a mini-stagger, and one of the best ways to interrupt enemies and bosses.
