Best RD-704 Attachments and Loadout in Escape from Tarkov

The Gigachad destroyer

The RD-704 is one of the strongest 7.62×39 weapons in Escape from Tarkov. Since 7.62×39 weapons also use some of the best ammunition, the RD-704 has been in the meta since it came out. While there are several ways to build an RD-704, we’ll show you some of its best attachments — but you can also switch out some of them based on your preference. Here’s the best RD-704 weapon build in Escape from Tarkov.

Best RD-704 Weapon Build in Escape from Tarkov

The RD-704 is a reliable 7.62×39 weapon that is more “moddable” than AKs and cheaper than the Mk47 Mutant. Some even say that the RD-704 is almost the same as the Mk47 Mutant but cheaper, which makes it the go-to weapon for several players in the late wipe.

Building an RD-704 is quite challenging since you want to balance out ergonomics, vertical recoil, horizontal recoil, and even its weight when choosing attachments. Choosing some attachments may skyrocket the price, so we’ll provide some alternatives for some slots.

Scope or Optics

To start, the RD-704 needs a good scope but you need to remove the rear sight to add a decent dust cover that can receive the good scope. Use Bastion or AK Defense Dust Covers for some slight ergonomics boost. Add your preferred scope.

I prefer the Eotech VUDU 1x-6x because the screen has less clutter when you aim downsight. The magnification levels are also good enough for various combat ranges. Red dots or holographic sights should be used for maps like Factory. Other great optics include the Razor 1x-6x or the Burris 1x-6x.

Stock

The RD-704’s stock has several good options. Most players use a tube and install an AR-15 Magpul MOE Carbine Stock.

The ProMag Archangel OPFOR has decent ergonomics and recoil, and you don’t need to buy a tube. The PRS GEN 3 with an AKTS AKM Tube lowers your ergonomics but keeps your recoil decent for a lower price. The default stock is also okay if you want to lower the cost.

Grips

The AK TangoDown Battle Grip or AK Customs ARMS AGS-74 PRO (if unlocked) are the best grip options, offering the best ergonomics stats. However, any decent grip will do since some of these are quite expensive, and it is hard to justify the cost of a slight ergonomics boost.

Muzzle and Suppressor

The suppressors are usually where you can cut costs by using the cheapest ones available. You can use the AR-10 AAC Blackout Flash Hider and SDN-6 Suppressor or the DT Hybrid and DT Hybrid Suppressor.

Foregrips

The Zenit RK-1 on B25-U mount is the best for lowering recoil. The Fortis Shift Tactical Foregrip is the best for more ergonomics. The Stark SE-5 Foregrip is a cheaper ergonomic option than the Fortis Shift. These foregrips are important as they provide massive stat boosts. The best ones can be extremely expensive, though, especially if you haven’t unlocked them from the trader and are forced to buy them at the flea market.

Magazines and Tactical Devices

Use the GEN M3 or AK30 for 30-round and X-47 for 50-round magazines. Tactical devices are based on your preference. You can even attach three Klesch flashlights and show players the “sun” if you want.

If you want an easy copy of the build, you can use the image above to copy every piece using the game’s edit build mode and save the preset when you are done.

How Much Will a Meta RD-704 Cost in Escape from Tarkov?

A full RD-704 build might cost around 350,000-400,000 Roubles, excluding the ammunition. Finding a GPU might not even be enough to cover the costs of running a full RD-704 loadout. In the image above, the attachments cost around 200,000 Roubles without optics, extra magazines, and the base weapon. These prices are mostly from the traders since they are all maxed out. If you don’t have the traders maxed out, you’ll pay a slight premium on some attachments.

The ammunition depends on what you have available. 7.62×39 MAI APs are the best, but you cannot buy or craft them. The only sustainable ones are BP and PP. The BP craft requires you to finish the Intimidator quest, which needs player level 45 and the whole Punisher task line finished.

However, the PP is not too bad. You only need Prapor level 4 to get them. All this ammunition can get expensive. Even the BP crafts are expensive. You want to stockpile some of this ammo and use the RD-704 when doing something serious, like finishing a hard quest or playing with a full squad of trustworthy buddies.

There are a lot of good cheap weapons you can build if you lack cash. You can also check out other meta weapons and add variety to your arsenal.
