Best Holger 26 Loadout and Class Setup in Modern Warfare 3

The G36 with more ammo

Light machine guns are one of the least popular weapons in nearly any Call of Duty, but I’ve been using the Holger 26 with some fantastic results in Modern Warfare 3, and it could change my own opinion. If you want to give LMGs a shot, then I have the perfect Holger 26 loadout for you in MW3.

Best Holger 26 Loadout in Modern Warfare 3:

  • Barrel: Heavy Barrel (Optional)
  • Muzzle: L4R Flash Hider
  • Underbarrel: Kimura RYN-03 Vertical Grip
  • Rear Grip: LM Intruder Grip
  • Optic: MK. 23 Reflector

The two largest issues on the Holger are recoil and lack of a precision sight. In my experience, the iron sights are way too clunky. Adding the MK. 23 Reflector or the Slate Reflector will instantly change your accuracy on the weapon without any cost to ADS speed. Then we still need to deal with recoil control after adding the optic.

Both the L4R Flash Hider and the Kimura Vertical Grip will be the main sources of kick control at a minimum cost in ADS speed. If you feel that the weapon still needs help with range, I recommend using a heavier barrel, but it’s not necessary. Instead, I would focus on the LM Intruder Grip to increase the mobility on the Holger. Remember that the weapon has a 60-round mag by default, which is great for respawn modes and can hurt ADS.

Best Perks and Equipment for the Holger 26 in MW3:

  • Vest: Infantry Vest
  • Gloves: Quick Grip Gloves
  • Boots: Covert Sneakers
  • Gear: Ghost T/V Camo or EOD Padding
  • Tactical: Flash Grenade
  • Lethal: Frag Grenade
  • Field Equipment: Trophy System
  • Sidearm: Renetti (Aftermarket Conversion Optional)

Most of the equipment here is par for the course on assault rifle loadouts. Covert Sneakers and Ghost will ensure that enemies can’t hear your footsteps while also staying hidden from UAVs. You can swap Ghost for EOD if you want more protection from explosives or if you plan on staying more stationary. In the third slot, Quick Grip Gloves will help you swap to sidearms in a pinch.

It’s also best to keep your throwables as simple as possible. Flash and frag grenades can get you through nearly any situation in any game mode. If you’d rather try something with more flare, use Battle Rage or the drone.

How to Use the Holger 26 in Modern Warfare 3

You can use the Holger 26 after level 4 in MW3. Light machine guns are all about sustained fire in Call of Duty. Much of the time they also have a bit more damage per shot, which is the trade-off for less mobility. With a full loadout on the Holger 26, you will have more speed but it will still be slower than a well-built MCW. I like to pause in between map movements and watch for enemies crossing objectives.

With so much ammo by default, you can easily tear through opponents on objectives without worrying about reloads at the moment. When that reload is forced though, be prepared to find some decent cover away from an upcoming Striker player.

An alternative to light machine guns are the battle rifles, so make sure to check out my BAS-B loadout guide in Modern Warfare 3.
