Best Guns In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

by Liana Ruppert

Wanting to make sure you have the best in your arsenal? Then these are the best guns in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare that you need to familiarize yourself with. Recent hitbox issues aside, a solid weapon can make or break your chances at a decent K/D in a match, but not one gun is made for everyone. To help you pick your best fit, here’s the best Call of Duty: Modern Warfare guns we can recommend.

Best Guns In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

  • Best Assault Rifle: M4A1
  • Best LMG: PKM
  • Best Shotgun: 725, though it’s in the process of changing
  • Best SMG: MP5
  • Best Sniper: AX-50
  • Best Marksman Rifle: MK2 Carbine (a favorite)
  • Best Launcher: PILA
  • Best Handgun: X16

My go-to loadouts are the M4A1 assault rifle and the AX-50 sniper. The M4A1 does massive damage in quick succession, while the sniper is the perfect weapon to take up on the bridge. Both are powerful weapons in their own right made even better by specific attachments that players can unlock as they rank up.

The M4A1 I can’t recommend enough for when players hit level 6 and honestly, it’s in a league of its own – even with “higher class” weapons that unlock later during that road to prestige.

That being said, it really comes down to player choice. Buds that I roll with swear by the PKM, a gun that I just don’t click with, so if my picks don’t fit with your game techniques – that’s OK! Maybe an SMG and Launcher are more your style!

As for the game itself after you’ve gotten comfy with the best guns in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, the latest Infinity Ward title is now available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC through Disagree or agree with our list?
