Best Controller Settings for Modern Warfare 3

Prep the sticks

Figuring out the best controls for a new Call of Duty is one of the best ways to stay ahead of the curve, and that sentiment hasn’t changed with Modern Warfare 3. To make the most of all the settings available for aiming or movement, I have the best setup for your controller in the latest COD.

What are the Best Controller Settings for MW3?

The best controller settings for a standard controller are Bumper Jumper Tactical mixed with the medium designation for sensitivity. There are plenty of other small settings that will help fine-tune your gameplay as well, and I have them all listed below.

Best Controller Settings for Modern Warfare 3:

  • Button Layout: Bumper Jumper Tactical
  • Horizontal Stick Sensitivity: 3
  • Vertical Stick Sensitivity: 3
  • Aim Assist Type: Default
  • Aim Response Curve: Dynamic
  • Trigger Effect: Off
  • Tactical Sprint Behavior: Single Tap Sprint

If you are on a standard controller, then I can’t recommend using Bumper Jumper Tactical enough. Modern Warfare 3 has plenty of movement mechanics, and to perform at your best, you need to aim while moving. The default controls require you to take your thumb off the right stick to jump, which is true for the slide as well.

Bumper Jumper Tactical allows me to jump and shoot with no issues, and then I can leave the slide on my right stick. Regardless of the movement mechanic, I’m using, I can still track my enemies as they fly around me.

For the sensitivity settings, I like to keep mine on medium, or at a three. However, you’ll see plenty of players using a four or even a five. You should test out what feels best for you, but I don’t recommend going any higher than five in MW3.

Once you have your settings ready to go, make sure you have Battle Rage in your class for Modern Warfare 3.
