Best Animals for the Somniel Farm in Fire Emblem Engage

It's not animal exploitation if they're pixels

The Somniel is an island with many functions and one of the strangest and most amusing is undoubtedly the fact that you can have your own petting zoo. And not only will that petting zoo allow you to bask in the company of the animals you’ve kidnapped, those very same animals will give you resources. So, what are the best animals for the Somniel Farm in Fire Emblem Engage?

The best animal for your farm will depend on what you prioritize. Animals will bring you one of two resources: ingredients or ore. If you find yourself cooking often and using packed meals for the health boosts, then Rare Vegetables are ideal. But if you find yourself struggling to refine your weapons, then the answer is ore. Here are the best options for both.

The Best Animals for Ingredients in Fire Emblem Engage

One of the most important parts of Fire Emblem Engage is keeping up with the Skirmishes that appear on your world map every hour. If you do this, and your donation tiers are decently high, then you should take the time to explore each post-battle map to collect the variety of ingredients scattered around the map.

But there’s one ingredient that you’re unlikely to find on the ground: Rare Vegetables, Fruit, and Fish. For that reason, the best animals to maintain will off you that.

For Rare Fruits, keep the Rutile Marmot which can be unlocked with Brodia Donation Level 2. For Rare Vegetables, keep the Vervain Deer, which can be obtained after reaching Elusia Donation Level 2. For Rare Fish, find Tartu Flamingos, which can be obtained after reaching Solm Donation Level 2.

One of the most expensive resources in the game is Silver Ingot, which is eventually buyable in the Somniel for 5,000 G. But… wouldn’t it be better to get it for free? These animals won’t give you much, but if you visit each time after a Skirmish or story mission, you can slowly accumulate enough to refine our weapon another level.

For Silver Ingot, keep as many Elyosian Dogs and Black Elyosian Dogs as possible. You can get up to 5 Silver Ingot that way. If you don’t mind mingling Steel into the mix, then a White Elyosian Dog will provide you with that. And you don’t need a donation level to get it, either!
