Lady Esther wants you to steal a Githyanki egg from the Yllek in Baldur’s Gate 3, and even if you tried to trick her into taking your Owl Bear egg, there’s a good chance it didn’t work. So now your only option is to steal the real egg for Lady Esther or her customer; I’m here to help you pull that off in this BG3 guide.
How to Peacefully Steal the Githyanki Egg in BG3
Peacefully taking the Githyanki egg can be done by speaking to Varsh Ko’kuu on the center cliff of the hatchery. He carefully watches guard over the egg and will answer your questions if you have them. Your goal in conversation should be to persuade him to let go of the egg. But that’s easier said than done.
In order for the persuasion check to work, you need enough perception to notice the desperation of the Gityanki in the hatchery. This can be used to further convince Varsh Ko’kuu to give you the Githyanki egg. If all your checks work, then you can simply walk over to the acid water and take the egg.

This is hard to pull off, though, and many players will likely have to save scum. You might even try to steal the egg peacefully, but the traps and acid water will make it nearly impossible. So combat may be the better option.
How to Steal the Githyanki Egg in Baldur’s Gate 3
The best way to steal the Githyanki egg is to simply kill all of the Githyanki within the hatchery. This seems like a terrible idea at first, but when I tested it myself, there were no tangible consequences. The Gith in the rest of Creche Yllek had no idea that I took down everyone in the hatchery and stole their loot.
Instead, I was able to just take the egg without any issues and complete my quest for Baldur’s Gate 3. I understand that some players won’t want to do that for role-play reasons. However, it’s certainly the easiest way to get what you need.
Before you get to this point in the story, you may want to free Lae’zel and make sure she helps you reach the Creche in Baldur’s Gate 3.
