Baldur’s Gate 3: How to Sheathe Your Weapon in BG3

Put those weapons away.

While exploring the vast world of Baldur’s Gate 3, the world is your oyster in every sense of the world. As one of the most in-depth CRPGs in recent years, you have almost complete control over every action your character takes, including the ability to sheath your weapon when you are not in combat. Depending on your moral alignment during your sessions, the option to appear more intimidating with weapons drawn may sound appealing, but for those on the nice-guy route, knowing how to put your weapons away before approaching a conversation is key for your role playing experience.

How To Put Weapons Away In Baldur’s Gate 3

While exploring the massive overworld, you may notice that your created character is still running around with their favorite weapons in hand, and you may be wondering how you can put those sharp objects away. With a simple press of the U key, the character that you are controlling will put their weapon on their back or their side, allowing you to roam the plains once again without worrying about turning yourself into a Kebab.

Are there any benefits to this particular action? Not really. You won’t notice that your character is running faster, and there is likely no real danger of you tripping and falling in Baldur’s Gate 3, but safety comes first. We’ve always been taught not to run with scissors, and I would imagine it would be the same principle while carrying a Rapier.

It’s a purely aesthetic choice overall, allowing you to feel more like a badass than you ever could have imagined. If you’re hoping to strike fear into the hearts of your enemies, or potential allies, you can always approach with your weapons drawn and ready to strike. Or, if you’re like me, you’ll put those puppies away before you approach anyone because you don’t want to make a scene. I think I’m putting too much of my own personality into my character.

Whether you’re trying to help Art wake up from a deep sleep, or you’re hoping to become the hide-and-seek champion of the world, be sure to check out our Baldur’s Gate 3 section below. This experience is massive, and we’re here to help you throughout your journey.
