Are Medallions in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2? – Answered

Feel like pure garbage, wish the Peter Griffin Medallion was coming back.

One of the most exciting new additions from Chapter 5 Season 1 had to be the introduction of Medallions, especially with their high-risk/high-reward system. Are they making a comeback in the newest season of Fortnite?

It looks like Medallions are going to be coming back, but will be more than they were during Chapter 1 if these details are to be believed. For those that are just coming back to the game, Medallions were claimed by defeating a powerful boss who resided on the map, and you would receive a Medallion that would give away your general location on the map in exchange for recharging shields.

It seems that rather than just being extra shields this time, these updated Medallions will carry stat boosts alongside them, including the following:

  • Combat: Imbues ranged weapons with increased damage.
  • Siphon: Grants healing siphon effect on enemy elimination.
  • Speed: Run faster and jump higher while sprinting.
  • Agility: Gain charges of Underworld Dash over time for quick bursts of mobility.

Siphon is going to be my go-to when it comes to these Medallions, as the ability to sap away health after an elimination sounds fantastic. While it’s unfortunate that the newest season was hit with a delay, players are already eager and ready to go back onto the battlefield to see what new kinds of guns and items are waiting for them.
